Lawrence Gordon was born in St. Louis, Missouri and lives in Akita Japan. He has been practicing law since 1978 and has extensive trial, small business and real estate law experience. In addition to his private law practice, he served in-house as commercial underwriting and claims counsel for national title insurance companies and as general counsel for several midwest corporations. He is a frequent lecturer on real estate law, title insurance and tax-deferred exchanges and authored a primer on Section 1031 exchanges entitled “The ABCs of Section 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchanges.” Mr. Gordon is licensed to practice law in Minnesota and Missouri and is a member of the Missouri Bar and the Minnesota Bar.
The office has been located in Akita Japan since 2012. Mr. Gordon is licensed to practice law both in Missouri and Minnesota. And, although not licensed as a foreign lawyer in Japan, he is available to assist and consult Americans living, working and traveling in Japan with a variety of American related legal issues, such as estate planning and administration, legal documents, instruments and agreements. He also provides liason services to American companies doing business in Japan and services to Japanese citizens having legal and business issues in the United States.
